It is not wishful thinking as in “I hope I get to go on vacation soon.” It’s not for the short-term satisfaction of attaining some desired goal.
It’s deep-seated expectation, fully confident faith. It is being rooted and established, grounded and founded in an identity that is stronger than myself, stronger than my wishes and dreams, more powerful than any earthly plan I could set in place.
There is only One in whom my full hope can be placed. There is only One who provides the perfectly solid foundation for this hope. My hope is in Jesus.
I’m often blessed by music in my life. It connects my heart, soul, mind and strength to the Lord in worship like few other things will do. Since choosing my Word of the Year in December, I have been continually reminded of HOPE through a beautiful contemporary hymn, “All My Hope” by David Crowder with Tauren Wells. As I leave you with this, I pray that you will be blessed with these words today.
