Missy Hoffman is the proud wife of Brandon for almost 20 years. She is an adoptive mom to 14 children, and grandma to many more. Missy’s heart’s desire is to serve God by loving on others. As an adoptive mom since 1998, Missy has many experiences on the roller coaster ride of life in parenting children who have been in foster care.
Missy and her husband, Brandon, are the co-founders of Project Belong, a Kansas faith-based organization whose mission is to work in partnership with the Church, families, and the community to awaken the Church to the call of James 1:27 and to recruit, train, and support foster and adoptive families. In her role with Project Belong, Missy provides families with training in attachment, brain development and the effects of trauma, grief and loss in the lives of children.
Missy was encouraged by her second grade teacher, Miss Pickerell, to pursue her dream of writing. From a very young age, Missy felt called to write, to share her story, to encourage others through the gift of words and story-telling.
I am so excited to be sharing my heart with you here at MomZookeeper.com! I pray that every word will be a transparent, authentic blessing to everyone who reads it. Life in this proverbial zoo (large family, foster care and adoption, busy schedules and more) can be wild and difficult to navigate. My heart’s desire is to bring encouragement to foster and adoptive parents and others that will deepen their relationship with the Lord. Thank you for stopping by!
